About OPL Rehab

A Lorain treatment center born from a hospital partnership and built on a simple belief: everyone deserves a second chance at recovery.

Our Story

OPL Rehab was born inside a hospital. As overdose admissions climbed across Lorain County, a regional medical center realized that emergency care alone was not enough — patients were stabilized and discharged, only to return weeks later. They needed a place to actually recover.

So the hospital partnered to launch a dedicated treatment center, bringing real clinical infrastructure to addiction care in our community. That medical foundation still shapes who we are: detox protocols and dual diagnosis treatment grounded in hospital-grade standards, delivered with the warmth a hospital ward rarely allows.

Over the years, OPL Rehab has become known for welcoming the people other programs gave up on. Relapse does not disqualify you here. We built this center for second chances — and we have watched them change lives across Lorain.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make sure no one in Lorain runs out of chances to recover. We exist for the person who has tried before and is afraid to try again, for the family that has nearly given up hope, and for anyone convinced they are too far gone. They are not. Every day we work to prove that recovery remains possible, no matter the history behind it.

Treatment Philosophy

We treat addiction as a family condition, using family systems therapy to repair the relationships and patterns that addiction strains. Our care is trauma-informed: because so much substance use traces back to unhealed wounds, we create safety first and treat the trauma beneath the symptom. And we are strengths-based — we start with what is still working in a person's life and build recovery outward from there, rather than reducing anyone to their worst moments.

What Our Alumni Say

"I'd been to two other programs before OPL, and I walked in expecting to be treated like a lost cause. Instead they treated me like someone worth the effort. That changed everything. The trauma work was hard but it was the missing piece. Three years sober now — the longest stretch of my adult life."

— Kevin S., Alumni (2023)

"What stood out at OPL was that they never made me feel like my relapses defined me. They genuinely believed I could get better, and eventually so did I. Having a center this caring right here in Lorain meant my family could be part of it. I owe them my second chance."

— Monica D., Alumni, Lorain
