Treatment Programs at OPL Rehab

From medically supervised detox through outpatient care, OPL Rehab offers a full continuum of addiction treatment in Lorain — grounded in our hospital partnership and built around second chances for every patient who walks through our doors.

Treatment programs overview

Medical Detox

Medical detox at OPL Rehab typically lasts 3 to 7 days, with licensed medical staff on site around the clock. Thanks to our hospital partnership, withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines is managed with genuine clinical infrastructure — continuous monitoring and medication-assisted treatment to keep you safe and as comfortable as possible.

Detox is the stabilizing first step, not the finish line. As soon as you are medically ready, we transition you directly into residential or outpatient care so the hardest days lead straight into lasting recovery.

Residential Treatment

Our residential program runs 30 to 90 days in a structured, around-the-clock environment on our Lorain campus. Days follow a balanced rhythm — clinical therapy, physical activity, creative work, and quiet reflection in equal measure — so recovery engages the whole person.

Patients live on site with access to private rooms, the aquatic center, nature paths, and creative arts studio, while clinicians deliver trauma-informed, family-centered care.

Outpatient Program

OPL Rehab offers two outpatient levels: a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) of 2 to 4 weeks and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) of 8 to 12 weeks. Both let you keep working, stay near family, and apply what you learn in real time, with the structure of regular clinical sessions.

Outpatient care works as a step down from residential treatment or as a starting point for those whose lives and support systems allow recovery while living at home in the Lorain area.

Dual diagnosis therapy

Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis means treating addiction and a co-occurring psychiatric condition — such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD — at the same time, by the same team. Treating only the substance use while leaving the underlying condition unaddressed is among the most common reasons recovery does not hold.

Our psychiatrists and therapists integrate medication management, trauma-focused therapy, and our experiential programming into one coordinated plan, so the whole person is treated rather than a series of disconnected symptoms.

Our days give equal weight to clinical work, physical activity, creative expression, and reflection — a balanced rhythm that rebuilds the whole person.
